I'm taking a seminar on inter-group dynamics, particularly focused on racial and ethnic relations. In the class, we've been discussing whether or not race or ethnicity play a role in determining one's socioeconomic status. It seems certain groups are disproportionately stuck in impoverished situations. Is this a result of racism or lack of socioeconomic resources?
