Why Betsy? I Never Look Down
My wild college friend Betsy climbed to the top of the highest building on campus and jumped down. 3,000 miles away, I heard her fall. What went through her mind as she climbed 22 flights of stairs? How intoxicating was her free-fall? Down, quickly, down. Even now years later, when I am up high, I am terrified to be pulled into the vortex of Betsy's fierce, hungry energy. I stay away from the edges and I never look down.
