This summer term, I've asked my online writing students to think of why they do what they do, express it in haiku form, and send it to me via surface mail. - Informed citizenship and individual reflection are the focus of my work as a teacher. I believe we can do magical things if we just believe and try. My job, then, sometimes entails showing students the curtain and promising them they'll see magic if they choose to open it and step inside.
