some people dont know what their calling is, no matter how old they are
some people know what they are meant to do from the day they learn how to read.
i knew kina what my calling was when i was younger,
but now i know for sure.
i was born to help people, whoever may need it.
and i will keep on helping them, until i can no longer stand on my own.
so stand up people, and try and help with me.
because you never know when you will need help…

I am sitting here cramming for my final tomorrow and I am pumping my body full of caffeine and sugar to keep myself awake to cram in those few extra definitions. As I sit here sucking down a coca cola I was just wondering how bad this could be for for my body later on in life. Like am I going to wake up to a commercial blaring that soda is the new cigarettes? Because I cannot quit drinking soda....I love it too much. I know that sugar and processed food is not good for the body but how…

Since it is 10th week I have to do a million things at once, and one of those things is housing.
I live in a really cute apartment with a nice lawn outside. I have a small kitchen and a small room but its my home away from home, and my home is now being threatened. All three of my roommates are moving out! This sounds bad-like I am some horrible roommate, but that is so not true! One of my roommates is moving into a sorority, one is graduating, and one is moving in with her…

In France where the cultural exceptionalism is one of the highest values, the government supports artists rather vigorously. Once a French citizen is registered as an artist who pursues legit artistic activities regularly, she gets financial support from the government. It's a policy to help fostering art that they value so highly and it does help, but it also produces garbage arts and artists as byproducts; people without artistic enthusiasm or philosophy may claim to be artists while…

Everyday i dread the walk to class through bruin walk. I am sad to be so nervous and scared to walk up the scenic bruin walk, but the amount of flyers and CALPRIG announcments that i am bombarded with get old very quickly. What is a girl to do when blue, green, pink, and yellow papers all displaying different pictures and various word arts are shoved into my face as i try to bury my face in a book or delve into a deep (fake) conversation with my mom. This attack on students needs to stop,…

I can not live my life without music, plain and simple. Music inspires my very soul, and is like a lifeline to me. I honestly dont think i could do anything without the presence of music in my life. Getting pumped up for games would be impossible, and feeling elated and happy would be difficult with the abscence of music. It just makes everything better, for instance, if there is music playing during workout, i automatically am in a better mood, therefore i perform better. I guess it…

Through thick and thin, there is one thing in my life that has been constant and strong: family. My familyis the simgle most important thing in my entire life. A support system that is there when you make mistakes, break hearts, and act just plain stupid, their love is unconditional. I know that my family is far from perfect, and they are complete weirdos at heart, but I would not trade them for the world. Everything that I have accomplished is due to the fact that my family is so…

It seems that the world today is so wrapped up in the business of everyday life, that it is hard to find some time to just sit and do nothing. Wasn't everything easier when we were little kids? Where the biggest concern of ours was what color to use when drawing stick figures and little doggies? Sometimes I just want to go back to those times where everything was so simple and nothing else besides coloring and hide-and-seek seemed to matter. Nowadays being in college, my childhood nearing…

If you think about it, living in Dorms is an interesting concept. Being thrust into a small room and forced to live with another human being that you very well may not know is something that does not seem appealing nor rational. But yet, we do it. For some, sharing a room with a fellow Bruin may be a new experience, where one roomate has never had to share a room, or just have never had the desire to share a living space with somebody until marriage or something. The dynamics of this type…

I never blog usually...so I will just put what I am feeling right now.
When 10th week and finals weeks comes I get very stressed out. EXTREMELY stressed out. It is hard for people to see because I usually have a big smile pasted on my face just out of habit. But after 6 hours of water polo and school all day there is not enough time in the day to actually show stress by braking down into tears. I don't have time for that. So stress comes in different forms for me.
One…
