The reasons behind what I do and why I do it are simple: to make myself and the people closest to me not only happy, but proud. Ever since I could remember, my parents always wanted nothing more than for my sister and me to be happy. Whether it was signing us up to play AYSO, buying us the hottest toy, or taking us to our favorite restaurant (McDonalds), their priority was to bring us happiness.
It feels great knowing that I have the freedom to do whatever I want and that I have the support of my family in whatever I choose to do. Something that I have loved to do my entire life has been playing soccer. It never fails to bring me joy, and I feel that it has always been a way to escape from everything else, which is unquestionably nice. Also, I have worked hard over the years to hone my skills to become successful in the sport, and I feel that where the game has taken me so far has made my family extremely proud. In addition to giving it my all on the field, I try to give my best, earnest effort in the classroom. My parents have always stressed how important school is and I’m the first in my family to go to college, so I feel obliged to do well to make them proud. Another motive behind working hard in school is the fact that in order to one day get a great paying job that I love, I have to work hard to earn a degree so I am qualified for whatever position it may be.
In just about everything, success relates to happiness. I do what I do to become successful, so, in turn, I can live comfortably and be happy. In whatever decisions I make, I know that I’ll choose to do whatever brings me happiness. Life is way too short, you need to enjoy it and live it the way you want.
