I am a mature and sophisticated young woman. Mature not only for my age, but also mature for my knowledge and the numerous lessons I have learned throughout my life. Being raised in a devoted catholic home, my parents have instilled great values and beliefs in me that I will always utilize. Now I have played volleyball for as long as I can remember. The sport of volleyball has ultimately contributed to shaping the person who I am today. I have developed a competitive attitude and spirit that has allowed me to excel not only in athletics, but also in the classroom. I am able to manage the heavy workload of a student athlete, while also enjoying my life. I love laughing each and everyday whether I am having a good day or not. I find joy in watching the sunset and gazing upon stars, because I truly appreciate the beauty of nature. I am sincerely interested in politics and what is occurring in the world. I think it is important for people to speak out and share what’s on their minds. I hope that one day my words will change someone’s life. I indulge in food, like cookies, with the attitude that life is too short to worry about what you eat. I am a person who believes that having friends is important. Whether it’s a best friend or just a friend, it is important to be around someone who cares about you.
So in asking myself why I do these things, the answer is simple. I play volleyball because I love the competition. I eat what I want and when I want because I love food. I go to the beach and watch the sunset, or sit in the country and gaze at the stars because I love what those sights have to offer. I have friends because I love to be surrounded by people. I study hard in school because I love the satisfaction of getting a good grade. I love the person who I am.
