AA10 and you

After taking this class, the idea of going back to taking four engineering classes in a quarter makes me want to shoot something.  I need a more comprehensive college experience, so  I have decided to minor in English so that I can pursue creative writing as an educational discipline as well. How has this class affected your attitude towards school, yourself, and other people?

  • I am also an engineering major so I know how you feel.  When I originally signed up for this class, I had no real appreciation for art at all.  I simply was told it was an entertaining GE to take that was stress free.   After going through nine weeks of this class, I have definitely developed an appreciation for higher art forms and been made aware of the level of excellence UCLA has in the arts.  The UCLA Live events and off campus events have really broadened my perspective on the diverse art forms that are available here in Los Angeles.  I also now realize how narrow our education has been in scope.
  • AA10 made me enjoy my Mondays and Wednesdays. Taking series of upper div Biochem courses is very tiring, but this class was a breather  in my hectic schedule. As Winter said in his first lecture, we not only learn in his class but we also get to enjoy it like live entertainment.

For the past few days the in class presentations reinforces the point that everyone is creative in their own right and they only need a stage to showcase their talent.
  • I am totally loving this class!

And I completely agree with you- thinking about all upper div science classes makes me want to hit something really hard.

I am actually taking this class for fun because all of my friends recommended it to me! I already fulfilled my art GE with history of jazz.

Also, Professor Winter was absolutely right- there is no other class at UCLA quite like this one.

    This class made me:

    1. actually look forward to class

    2. think "outside" of the box

    3. more aware of different kinds of artists/musicians

    4. want to learn how to play the drums (even though i suck boo)

    5. experience UCLA live events @ Royce Hall

    6. think about WHY i do what i do

    7. more aware of UCLA basketball haha!

    woot AA10!
