Hope and Kahane

Anyone go to the concert last night at Royce Hall featuring Hope and Kahane? What did you think?

 

-I was actually super stoked to see this concert because I thought the piano and violin combo would really sound good. I was a little disappointed when I heard the pieces they were playing, because although they were very difficult they were just not that good. That’s my opinion at-least. I was very impressed at how good both the violinist and pianist were, but I would of liked to maybe hear some pieces that were complemented these two instruments more.

    The concert was just amazing and fantastic. I really enjoyed the show. I hope the show could last longer. When I was listening to their music, I felt so comfortable and relaxed, love it.

    I went to watch the concert too. And I also was a little bit disappointed. Yes, those two performers were talented, but the music they played was... They played great together, harmonizing. But the music simply wasn't up to my expectation.

    I thought the pieces played complemented the instruments well. During each piece played, you can distinguish which parts have more of an emphasis on the violin and which were for the piano. I really enjoyed the duet and thought they were really in sync with each other.

    I have to agree, I enjoyed the interaction both artist had but the pieces were too slow for me. I loved the fact, both men seemed humble.

    I appreciated the skills of the two musicians. But I also wasn't particularly impressed with the pieces they chose to play, maybe because it was sort of gloomy, which I don't really like in classical music. However, I was impressed with how they played so well with each other. They must have partnered in many different performances to reach this level of excellence.

     I thought the two performers were very talented but I didn't enjoy the music as much as I thought I would. All the pieces that were played sounded very similar to me, but I really enjoyed the two instruments playing together I thought it sounded beautiful.
