Karsh Kale

Who ever went to Karsh Kale last Sunday, what did you think? Was it like any other concerts you have ever attended? What were some things you liked and disliked?

Personally, I though his concert was pretty rad except with a few exceptions. The music, at times seemed to drag on which made the concert pretty long. I may have even dozed off a few times. I did like the fact that the music was different than anything I have ever heard before. Sort of like a mix of classical techno with an Egyptian theme or something. It was also interesting to see all the older couples dance in the aisle during the last song. It actually got weird after a while. Anyways, let me know your thoughts.

  • Like what some of you said, the music was interesting, definitely something I've never heard of before, but it seemed to get monotonous at times. That, and the fact that some of the vocals seem hypnotizing made it hard for me to stay awake the entire time. Nevertheless, it was an interesting experience.
  • This performance was amazing! I was thrilled the entire time. I thought the fusion concept was really cool and it can be used more often by other up and coming artists as well. The songs mixed and blended very well too. You can really hear them speak through their music. Who would have known that this combination of Indian and electro music could sound so awesome.
  • Karsh Kale was downright AWESOME. Honestly, I never thought this type of music could be so... alive.

Anytime I closed my eyes, I could picture an entirely new world, full of lush greens and myself flying through the clouds. While it did sort of remind me of an experience one would feel if they got "high", I think Karsh Kale and MIDIval Punditz's point was to show the audience that even songs like these can reflect emotion into our life.

And what is art unless the artist and the audience forms a connection? Karsh Kale perfectly delivered this form of art into my life, and those two hours were probably the highlight of my week.

  • I thought the performance was pretty awesome. I had no idea what to expect, but the combination of indian music with the electronic beats, etc. really impressed me.  Karsh Kale and the other members of the group put on an excellent showing, as the concert was unlike any other one I've been to. They were very passionate and skilled, and being able to practically "hear" their emotions in the songs was truly remarkable.  I actually chose the Karsh Kale event randomly, but I'm so glad I picked it as one of my events!
  • I really liked the performance. I could see how it would get boring because the songs seemed to blend together into one long, endless song. I also got distracted because besides the graphics, there wasn't really anything to watch on the stage so I kept finding other things to look at. I thought the fact that they invited people to dance at the end was awesome. My friend and I went up to the stage and danced and it definitely made it more fun and exciting. Overall I think it was a great performance!
  • I agree that the images on the screen were captivating and along with the music put me in a sort of trance. Some of the people sitting around me were a little strange. One middle aged man was drumming on his legs the whole time and there was another older man who was crying at one point. Overall it was a very unique and interesting experience, but not necessarily one I would want to do again.
  • The entire experience at the Karsh Kale music show last saturday was unbelievably captivating and mind blowing. While i wasn't necessarily a fan of the electronic/indian/rock fusion style, I found myself uncontrollably attracted to the images and videos shown on the screen behind them. Ultimately the entire show was so visually stimulating that I came out with a sense of enjoyment.
