  • I've been in an orchestra for all my middle/high school years. And when I hear certain music, which i performed, it brings back memories. I listen to music almost all day long, my iPod is always on my side. Music sometimes help me get my mind off of somethings, or helps me focus. I listen to music while i workout, too.
  • Its always fun to hear an old song on the radio that you know ever word to. While your singing the song all the old memories that go along with that particular song come rushing back in your head. It's a way to remember yourself and see how you have grown.

  • There are some memories that I'd rather not have and others that I'm afraid of losing, but all of them are an important part of who I am. Even if I made a poor decision in the past, it's affecting me even today, reminding me not to make the same mistake. This makes me cherish every memory, painful or happy, and if even if given the chance I would not trade them or erase them for anything.
  • Although we are always living in the present, I believe it is the past that really shapes who we are. Reflecting on the past helps me analyze my successes and discover my weaknesses. Through my memories I can capture a wide range of emotions and relive both moments of exhilaration and moments of tragedy.  Without the past, we are doomed to make the same mistakes but by learning from our memories we can help guide our lives in the right direction.
  • I believe previous memories defines who you are. I feel that your previous memories allows you to discover who you are. I discover who i am and reflect on my previous memories through pictures. My facebook believe it or not is how I reflect on my previous memories. Facebook allows me to reflect on the past.

  • Whenever I listen to songs that I used to listen to as a kid, I find that they are connected to different emotions and memories. Thats why art is so important - it not only triggers one's senses but also one's emotions. And usually, memories are connected somehow to certain forms of art. So memories are crucial when trying to analyze and learn from your past, and art can play a role in how you view these memories.  Some photos, paintings, or songs may contain positive effects and some may contain negative effects. But it's how you respond to them that helps you better understand yourself.
  • Memories are what makes me who I am right now. Past memories have affected me and changed me in so many different ways. Whenever the surrounding is quiet, I would think of the past; From the past memories and experience, I could find some pieces of the real me. When put these little pieces together, I could almost always know me better than before.
  • Certain songs that I used to listen to particularly a lot while growing up are connected to certain emotions. Whenever I happen to hear one of these songs on the radio, television, class, etc. it temporarily brings me back to that state of mind I was in when I used to listen to that certain song. It helps me remember the kind of person I was growing up, and how I've changed today.
  • We only have one life to live, so much of the things I do in life is about making memories. A lot of stuff we do in life passes in an instance, so the only thing we have left are the memories. Sometimes, we forget a lot of these memories so I normally try to keep a memento, picture, or video of all these events to help me reminisce of the past. After all, you are who you are based on all the experiences growing up and the events you encounter.
  • I've always thought of memories as the last things that I will remember as I lay on my death bed. Thus the more vivid memory the more it will stand out to me as I look back at my life a a whole. For this reason when I look back on my memories, I like to wonder whether or not it will stand out as much in my memory when my life has spanned much longer. I can understand parts of myself by examining individual memories. However my interest is not who I am now because of the past I have lived, but who I will be because of the whole of my perception now.
