Outside Performance

What were you guys thinking of doing for your outside art performance?

If you already went to one, what was it about and what did you like about it?

and if you have yet to attend one, what are you looking forward to seeing?

  • I went to the Getty Museum. It was a bit different because it encompasses the realm of visual art. This way, I would have four different art forms and I'd be able to write very diverse essays. The Getty is a great place and it's pretty cool, but I found that I could not spend too much time there without getting a bit bored.
  • I'm not sure what I'll do for the outside art performance.. Though the essay is due tomorrow. But I'm planning to go to LACMA or Getty with some of my friends. I really wanted to go to some concert or play, which I don't usually go to - to experience something different, new.
  • I personally want to go to an exhibit or a gallery because I feel that that would be a art form that the shows at UCLA do not provide. Critiquing paintings is just as important as critiquing a performance to me, and should not be considered inadequate because it is all art.
  • I went to a tyrone Wells Concert in Aneheim. It was awesome. Im not one to go to many concerts like that but my sister dragged me along and Im glad she did. I really liked how he transitions from song to song because he doesnt just go into how he wrote the song or came up with it but he talks about current day to day issues and how we can live our lives better and so on. I thought this was really cool and is what I liked most about the concert.
  • I went to the Laugh Factory to watch a guy in my house perform stand-up. It was an amazing time and I couldn't stop laughing at some of their jokes. I think comedy is just such an amazing form of art and the ability to make people laugh just makes life that much better for both the comedian and the viewers. I also really liked the people headlining the event because they were absolutely hysterical, along with the students from USC and UCLA.
  • Personally I'm going to a theater performance on Saturday, and I usually don't really enjoy going to see plays and stuff, but I feel like I will appreciate it more after learning about different art perspectives in the class.  It's going to be held at U$C, so hopefully its subject is directed toward college students, but nonetheless, I am looking forward to watching it.
