Reports from the Playa

Tony writes at 1:24am Sunday with the following:

Our camp: location is 3:45 & Cairo on the side of the street that is facing the man. We are camped next to Robert Bengtson, who is doing a playa art installation called "Flight." (we're actually closer to 3:50)

Today was the coldest mid-day on the playa I've ever experienced. I had to wear the orange sweat shirt even as I was in full working mode. It's raining now and has been for six hours. Drizzle and drys about as fast as it comes down. But it made putting up the exhibit hard. Also, two bad dust storms that were shut-your-doors-in-a-van-for-
an-hour type.

Tomorrow is supposed to be worse.

But, the rest of the week's forecast is supposed to be beautiful.

Playa conditions are pretty soft... as soft as that one year that we had to get off out bikes and walk when we were in deep playa. All the streets are fine.

Lots of TALL art here. The temple is amazing.

The only thing missing is you all!

It was absolutely beautiful today (Sunday)... so it just goes to show you how unpredictable the weather is here. If I had a dime for every time someone warned of rain or a terrible storm, we'd be rich.

Oh, just to clarify... our camp itself is facing the man (that is if you were standing in our camp and were walking out to the street, you'd be walking towards the man). It's a bit confusing at Playa Info about "Man Facing" and "Mountain Facing" stuff. I got confused at least.
