I do what I do because I believe that as a teacher it is my responsibility to lead my students by example. I believe that all children should feel respected, which leads to them feeling safe and is able to learn. I believe that students in a class should look at themselves as a team and should work together to support one another inside and outside the classroom. I strongly believe that encouraging classmates to work as a team will reduce the incidence of someone being bullied. I believe that students should push themselves to be the best that they can be and as a teacher it is my responsiblity to encourage the children to reach for the stars. Learning should not be boring and hard all of the time, having fun should be part of learning. Teachers should always reflect on what they taught, how well it went, and what can be changed. This is how we grow as a teacher. Teaching is not about the paycheck, benefits, or days worked, but it is about the children and how we can help them reach for the top.

Tracy, I really like the words and picture that you chose. Reflection, fun, enouragement, teamwork, freedom to be yourself, and responsibility are all words that should be heard and practiced within the classroom. I really like your comment about being a team and collectively working toward a goal of not bullying others. I think that students feel driven and know their importance when they know that they are part of a team. This is something that I intend to practice in my classroom as well. Great job!
