Adventure Town: Poulation Nectar

Life is full of adventure.  Through the good and the bad, I have been lucky enough to have the thrill of adventure in my life.  I do what I do because each risk I take takes me on a new adventure in which I learn more about myself and the world.  One will look back on their life and remember their most exciting times, whether good or bad.    It is important to take chances when living, and regardless of whether or not you find success, one will still benefit knowing that they tried their best.  As the great John Lennon once said, “Life is what happens when you are busy making other plans.”  It is one big roller coaster ride, with highs and lows, even plateaus.  I have been blessed with many opportunities, and have done my best to take advantage of every one.

Being at UCLA, I am lucky enough to experience everything life has to offer, such as prestigious academics, righteous parties, athletic success, and many people who I can learn from.  Academics can be very rigorous here at UCLA, but with each challenge I learn more about that subject and more about myself.  This paper, for example, is a great way to step out of my shoes for a second, and focus on the big picture of life.  From this perspective, one can truly find the important things in life.  A’s, B’s, C’s are just letters, nothing more.  Grades are not important whatsoever, all that matters is what you personally take away from that class, and how you grow as an individual.  The social life here is incredible.  Through each adventure I have met many great people and learned a great amount from them.  We’ve shared good times and bad, but one thing for sure is that we are living our life to the fullest and appreciating each adventure and surprise that comes our way.  My athletic life has also changed drastically since I have been here.  I have played competitive sports all my life, but being at the university with the most national championships is quite sublime.  I have a new sense of pride when I throw on my jersey, not just because I am satisfied of my accomplishments, but because each time I am working in the gym or at practice, I am reminded of where I have come from and the journeys which I have embarked on throughout life.  The thrill of adventure, whether you are laughing, crying, playing, or merely walking to class, is all around us, all one must do is step back and appreciate each experience for what it really is.
