If I was asked about my identify, then fore most, I am the daughter of my parents. For Chinese people, one’s family as well as one’s country are the most important aspects of one’s identify. I am a very traditional Chinese girl, plus I am the only child in my family, so let just say this, I grew up with all the expectation of my parents, my grandparents and other relatives. Expanding out a little bit, as an independent human being, I consider myself a scientific person. I love subjects like chemistry and biology, and my life’s dream is to be the best doctor. Why emphasize best? Because every patient wants the best doctor to help them out and this is also my style. Once I make up my mind to do something, I will do whatever I can to be on the top list. Nowadays, I am doing some biochemistry research on campus and volunteering at Garfield Medical Center. First of all, I really enjoy such work and when I am immerse in them, I feel myself full of passion. I am putting my knowledge into practice as I am learning more, and most importantly growing on them. Doing research helps me to improve my lab skills, become familiar with working on projects with my professor and peers, and to learn the beauty of discovering. I believe that regular classes let you step into the temple of the science, but doing research makes you become a part of the temple. Volunteering at hospital gives me a chance to get to know the reality of my future career. I feel so close to my dream, and I could tell deeply from my heart how much I want to be a doctor. I realize what I want most is the smiling faces of patients. I can be and I am willing to be a more useful and more helpful person to achiever my personal value. Overall it is much more than what interest me, this is who I am.
