Beach Breakfast with Dad

I am a hopeful person. I am one who has faith, even in the darkest tunnels and foggiest skies. I am someone who focuses on the small crack of light even when the darkness consumes me. I choose to put hope in myself, family, and future, and I believe that greater things will come in due time.Every Saturday morning, I have breakfast with Dad, early in the morning, as soon as the sun rises. Many may not think much of this, but to me this is the world. Saturday mornings are filled with profound conversations, encouragements, and bonding between a father and his daughter. I love going to the beach early in the morning for a scrumptious breakfast, simply enjoying the morning sea breeze while drinking a tall glass of grapefruit juice. It is my way to bond with my father and understand that what he does for me is more than what I understand it to be on the surface. Why is breakfast with Dad so special to me? Because it is a sure way to see my Dad every week. My father works in Las Vegas during the weekdays, and he drives back home on the weekends. At first, I never understood his motives for using up unnecessary time by working away from home. I thought he was cruel and inconsiderate for doing so. However, I slowly realized that he did this because he had hope for a better future for the family. His sacrifice of time and effort showed me that hope was real and powerful. I am a hopeful person today because like my father, I have come to realize that greater things have yet to come, and that life should be a positive experience. No matter what situation I am placed in, no matter how difficult life may seem, I always think of my father and his abundance of hope for a better future. My father is the backbone I lean on, and breakfast at the beach with him right when the sun rises is the best way for me to reaffirm my belief that greater things have yet to come, all in due time.
