Ever since the third grade, I have wanted to become a pediatrician. Doctors help people; they treat all the pain and physical anguish that God has allowed man to suffer in this world with unmitigated care and compassion. The brightest humans on earth are given the amazing ability to heal the sick; they are the first ones turned to in emergencies and in situations where one's life is truly at stake. So far, my 22 years of living on this earth have been so completely full of blessings. There are so many things that I thank God for including my loving family, good friends, food, clothing, and health- the list can go on and on, which leads me to honestly believe that my entire life is a blessing in itself. Moreover, in blessing me with life, He grants me the opportunity to bless another child by helping him or her live life blissfully. I want to become a pediatrician to help children fully live the blessed life that God has given them.
Orison Swett Marden once noted, “All who have accomplished great things have had a great aim, have fixed their gaze on a goal which was high, one which sometimes seemed impossible.” Likewise, I have always firmly believed in setting the bar higher than previously set; in going the extra mile; in having dreams. My dreams, which were planted as a child, have blossomed and grown brighter with the desire I have fed it with. Despite the amount of work and stress it will certainly take for my dreams to come true, I know I will achieve them.
Admittedly, I have had many short-term and short-lived goals throughout my life. However, I also admit that my dream of becoming a pediatrician has never once faltered. I know it will take much more schooling and even more discipline and hard work. I have faith that with my family's continued support and God's continued blessing, I will surely be able to achieve my dream.
And this is why I do what I do- in order to achieve my dreams and be a blessing in someone else’s life.
