I do what I do because it’s all that I know. I have been playing soccer since I was 5 years old. Some of my very first memories are from soccer. The majority of my friends, including my closest ones, I have met through soccer. It has had a major part in shaping who I am today, it has led me to where I am now and may dictate where I may end up in the future. I play year round non-stop; soccer is basically my life. Some days I get burnt out or just don’t have the energy, those days are by far the toughest but the most rewarding to get through. I am very thankful for all the opportunities that I have been given and all that I have been able to accomplish.Besides soccer, another thing that I value very much is my family. I have a great relationship with my parents and love spending time with them. Most of the traits that I have, I have gotten from my dad. I’m very laid back and can be reserved sometimes. Another thing that I believe has contributed a large part to who I am today, although I know it may seem weird, is having grown up an only child. While growing up, when I wasn’t with my friends, I would have to pass the time by myself and keep myself busy. Although I have a lot of close friends today that I share much of my life with, I still enjoy just hanging out by myself. Whether it’s going out for a run or walk, or sitting down outside and spacing out or people watching. Usually I can waste a couple of hours. I know many of my friends are very social and always need to be connected with other people but that’s not me at all. To me, life seems like its going by very quickly and that there’s so much out there in the world to experience. I fear that time will pass by before I am able to experience everything that I want to.
