It intrigues me that everyone in the world is capable of asking the same question before their time is up. Why is it that everyone asks this same question? Why is it that everyone ponders this same idea? Why is it that this feeling is so inherent in everyone’s heart? It is engraved in our thoughts and minds. Take a wild guess. Guess what this question is because I bet you’ve asked it before. This question is about our existence. Where did I come from? Who am I? Why am I here? Where will I go? I live my beliefs because I have been blessed enough to be able to answer these questions with unwavering moral. I know that whatever I do, Allah is watching. I know that whatever happens, it happens under the never blinking eyes of my merciful and beneficent and just Allah. I leave my private abode into the public world veiled and protected, shielded from all filth with a cover of beauty, a cover of magnificence, a cover which is the manifestation of my answer to the basic question of existence. Because I know why I am here. I know where I came from, I shield myself from this grotesque world of materialism and blindness of senses. Because I know why I am here, I live my life the way I do. I submit to God’s will and I kneel before him five times a day. I bear witness that there is no God but Allah, and that Muhammad (peace and blessings on him and his family) is his infallible messenger. I bear witness that Ali (peace be upon him) is my master and Imam. I bear witness that I come from God and to him I shall return. Therefore, I live my life knowing where I will go. I will go back to my Lord where I will be accounted for all my deeds with utmost justice. I breathe the way I do, I sleep the way I do, I talk the way I do, I act the way I do, because I know to whom I return.
