Why I do what I doCharlotte DolanI am an athlete, I am a champion, but most of all I am a team player. I adore being a part of something bigger than myself, something that brings so much more to your life. Wearing the title of being an athlete I wear proudly across my chest. There are so many things that being apart of sports that has taught me, life lessons you don’t learn anywhere else but on the battle field. I do what I do because of the fact everyday is never the same. Each and everyday you go to do what you do and it is even more exciting than the day before. Softball to me is not just a sport or a simple game that we play. It is a sisterhood of women who know what it is to lay it all on the line. To walk away from the field and know that no matter what it is, game, practice or work out you gave 100% of what you had on that day. You make life long friends with your team mate because in your 4 years of being here at UCLA, you become a family. 21 bodies with one united heartbeat. Nothing beats that, I do what I do because I love it and it loves me. There is nothing in the world I would rather be doing. In my life I have morphed into an athlete, and grown into a team player not because I had to but when you give your everything to this game it gives its everything back to you.
