Why do I do what I do…well honestly it is because being “normal” is overrated and boring. I want to strive to break the norm and be extra-ordinary. If everyday you simply do the same thing then what is the point of that day at all? Going through the motions is not living. Taking chances, having adventures, spending time with the ones you love now that is living! I want to do things that people say I are not possible. I have grown up in the sport of gymnastics; therefore my view on life might be a little skewed. When you’re a gymnast you do the impossible everyday. Defying gravity is not a problem at all, fear is left behind all that is present is the desire to reach your goals and strive towards perfection. Therefore when I am faced with a challenge now (having been out of the sport for about 6 months) I still approach it as if nothing can be perceived as impossible. It is a different mindset that allows me to strive to be a better person, and approach problems differently than others do. I want to chase the impossible. Without setting impossible goals you never have anything to strive for. The more impossible the goal the harder I work to get there, its like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. When you finally overcome the impossibilities you are rewarded immensely and it is somehow now within reach. No longer the impossible goal you started with. The hard work and the blood, sweat, and tears you put into yours goals is all part of the journey and makes the end even more enjoyable in the end. I feel that even though there is always a chance of failure, the benefits out weigh the risks when it comes to setting your goals above average. It is better to set your sights high and fall short then to never truly let yourself dream. This quotes by Brian Littrell defines why I chase the impossible dreams, “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.”
