Final

Clayton McFaddenWhy you do What You DoI have not had free summer since I was ten years old. To most kids, summer is a time of relaxation and the relief of not waking up early for school. However, this is not the case if you play a sport called water polo. Many people have asked me, “Is playing water polo worth all of the time you have to sacrifice?” Unlike basketball or football, there is no professional water polo league in the United States. This means that I will probably make no significant money playing water polo. Even though I know this, I still play water polo like it is my job. I do this because I love the game and the people that are involved in the sport. Playing a small sport has its disadvantages but the thing that I love most about it is that a good majority of the people I play against are my friends. Over the years playing water polo I have made close friendships with so many people. I have also traveled the world to play internationally for water polo and have seen new places and cultures. I may never get money for playing water polo, but I feel that the places I have been and the people that I have met playing water polo are priceless. That is why I play water polo.
