I am not one of those dancers who mindlessly copies the movements of their teachers or one who dances tentatively in fear of judgment. I am a dancer who moves from the heart and uses dance as a means of communication, far deeper than that of words. I am an artist because I want to explore the limits of my imagination and creativity. I am a dancer because no matter where I go, I will always have the opportunity to dance. I can dance in front on a bathroom mirror or in front of a live audience. I can practice in a dance studio or simply picture my moves in my head. I am a dancer because dancing gives me a feeling that nothing else has to offer. I am suddenly free of all the burdens and stresses of life, and I can finally release all my emotions. When I dance, I suddenly feel alive. I can feel every part of my body when I dance, from the small movements of my fingers to the pointing of my feet. I can hear my heart beat in time with the music and my deep breaths as I move through space. I am finally in-tune with myself and my surroundings; this is why I dance.
