I run, You lose -Zack Torres

WHY DO YOU DO WHAT YOU DO?I am an athlete. Not a runner, not a track jock, just an athlete. I don't run each day because I "like" to run, or because I enjoy the feeling, I run because desire the taste of victory. I am addicted to pain, obsessed with the idea that one day all I've done will actually be worth something. I run not toward a finish line, but away from a starting line, where all the nightmares of my past chase me to my next destination. I say destination because in reality, I have no finish line; because after each time I thrust my tired body forward across a finish line, I find myself at the start of a new race. So why do I run if I never get to finish? I run to be worth something. I am a warrior for my team, a leader for athletes who do not dare to go against the best. It is my job to push my body to the limit every competition by enduring the most pain I can handle. I am not stronger, smarter, and even not faster than all the athletes I race against. But I know every competition I am tougher than anyone on the course or the track on any given day. I run for pride, in knowing that my name will not be ignored one day. I refuse to be forgotten among the athletes of this era. I run because Zack Torres was born with a dream, and a fire to be the best and win. I will not waste my talent, and I will be the best at what I do; wherever and whenever the time is ready. If they want to race me in the mall parking lot at 5 am, with no one watching, I'll be ready. If they want to race me on an Olympic track in front of millions of people, I'll be ready. I am Zack Torres, and I am an athlete, and I run just so you will lose. You will remember this name.
