Life is so fleeting

We often underestimate the amount of time we have in our lives.  The time spent reading, playing, sleeping, running, laughing; etc goes by in the blink of an eye without us realizing it.  I blink, I’m in a lecture hall, I blink, I’m walking back to my dorm, I blink and I’m in bed falling asleep.  I find myself frequently feeling unsatisfied with what I do during the day, so in order to change that, I try to be productive with my time so I don’t feel as lazy and unfulfilled all the time.

I recently watched a movie called The Bucket List about two old men who make a list of things of what they want to do before their impending death, and actually work on doing all of them.  This inspired me to start young and make my own bucket list so that I may have more time to cross off every item on my list.  Some of the things on my list include going on an out of country trip alone, buying a new house for my mom, going to my kid’s sport game, and more.  Another part of the reason why I want to start early on is because my pastor’s son recently got into a fatal car crash, eventually passing away.  He was the same age as I was and was bound for college just like me.  All of his hopes and dreams were gone in an instant, just like that.  What if that was me?

Time is not always on our side.  Oftentimes, we race against time to finish what we want to accomplish.  I imagine my life as a huge hourglass, already about a quarter through.  So in the remaining time I have, I will spend it wisely and do what makes me feel happy and satisfied.  Why do I do what I do?  Because at this very moment in my life and in your life reading this, time is running out!
