LEXUS: Luxury EXported to the United States. Stemming from this acronym, a close friend and I made up a little saying a few years back that we hope to live by when we are older: “Live in Luxury.” For us, luxury is more than just being incredibly wealthy; it is the ability to do and say whatever we would like without having to care about the consequences. Luxury for us is like a plateau, and once reached, we can simply act as we please at all times. It is essentially just a state of pure bliss.
Fortunately for me, “luxury” is a relatively attainable goal down the road. What I do on a daily basis is much easier and more likable than what many others around the country and world are forced to do. I am lucky enough to attend a world class institution in UCLA and get to play on the football team as well. Although these endeavors bring a great deal of rewards, they also serve as stout challenges that force me to give my very best each day. What drives me in both school and football is the privilege of getting to compete. There is nothing I look forward to more on a day to day basis than getting the chance to show competitive greatness. For one day, that competitive edge could lead me down a path toward luxury.
So hopefully it is clear now, I do what I do to achieve a life filled with luxury. God has blessed me with good health and ample skills to make a difference along my path in life. I do what I do in hopes that if I maximize my potential, luxury will be inevitable. Obviously, few people are graced with true luxury during their time on earth. This is because a tremendous amount of hard work and discipline are needed to reach the “plateau” I described earlier. I would like to say I work as hard as I can just because I am blessed with the ability to do so, but the truth is that I just passionately seek luxury.
