I do what do because I was placed here for a purpose. Every detail is planned out in, what I like to call, the Story of My Life. Sometimes this story sucks. I’m sitting here thinking, this is a horrible story! I want a new one. Other times, I’m like, THIS IS THE BEST STORY, WAHOO!!! However, it must be pointed out that both elements of the story are written by the same author. So it would be nonsensical to hate the author, but then turn around and say you love the author. Oh, and by the way, this author is God. This is no auto-biography. I could never orchestrate something as complex as this. So why do I do what I do? Heck, fundamentally, I don’t know. All I know is God put me on this earth for a reason. Same with the guy sitting across from me, chewing gum. And my roommate. And that homeless man who always sits outside of Starbucks. But, I do know for whom I do what I do. Every goal I pursue, every bit of work I dutifully perform, every laugh that comes out of my mouth, every helping hand I lend—it’s all for God. Everything I do, I do it for my Lord simply because He is worthy of my whole life. I find total comfort and happiness in that, and honestly, nothing makes me feel more alive than knowing that I serve a perfectly holy God. Knowing that the Creator of this Universe has a plan for me, just me, is such a crazy thought! I don’t know what is in store for my life, or why I’m here, but one day when I’m sitting next to God—the day when all things are made new, then I’ll know. All I live for now is to serve God, serve others, live life humbly, live with faith, and live to love like Jesus. Until that day, I will run the race, and fight my best fight, because He is worth it!
