Numbers, an inheritance I can never forget! My passion for numbers began a long time ago, a time I was still not a part of. I had acquired it in my mother’s womb. Undoubtedly, this trait comes from both my parents, who majored in Statistics and Accounting, thereby intensifying my love for these floating digits.
“Numbers” symbolize me. They are a part of me. Since childhood, I was always engaged in number related activities. Sudoku is my cookie with my morning glass of milk. I would insist on completing it before I boarded my school bus, while my mother would scream that I was getting late. I also researched about Sudoku’s and compiled a math project on this subject. Observing my admiration for puzzles, my math teacher arranged a meeting with one of the world’s best logic masters, Rohan Rao. It was incredible! I couldn’t believe my eyes! I was flabbergasted! I was living my dream.
In high school I was called the Math “genius”. Teachers recognized me by this name. My friends from higher grades would seek my help if they were having trouble with math. Often my math teachers would ask my approach to problems as I always had something different from the rest of the class. I shared a special bond with math teachers. It was Numbers! It fascinated both of us the most!
My journey with these animated digits does not end. I entered college as an engineer, but soon switched to Mathematics. I felt incomplete without it. Numbers, something that I tremendously love, and unconsciously commit myself to every single day, has become the pinnacle of my life. At college, I was looking for a job that would suit me the best, and certainly I chose to be a math tutor! What would be a better job for me, than this one? I always loved teaching and when it is math, I would definitely do it, not just delightfully but passionately too. I absolutely enjoy my job! Often my tutees appreciate my help and ask me how I do it so enthusiastically. I just laugh and think in my mind: this is “why I do what I do."
