My passion and my joy is playing soccer. Why I do it is for a number of reasons from the simple to the more personal. First I’ll start with the simple and that would be that for me soccer is something that I deeply enjoy when I play I forget all of the stresses in my life and focus solely on the pure joy that the game gives me. I started playing soccer at the age of six and loved it and at first I think I liked it so much because I was so good at it I would win every game and score tons of goals, my first game I ever played I had eleven goals, and as a young kid if you find something that you thrive and find a lot of success in then you are much more inclined to stick to that and enjoy what you are doing. Still I find a lot of success in soccer which continues to be a motivation to play, but not quite as much as it did when I was younger because new motivation has also come into the picture.
As I got a little older I continued to excel in soccer establishing myself as one of the top up and coming players in my city, and when I was twelve years old my grandmother passed away. I still remember that day very vividly because my dad called me into the garage and told me that she was gone and I now had to do two things first I had to stay strong because as a young kid death was something I wasn’t used to dealing with and the other was to make our family name known. I knew that soccer was my best chance at doing this so it made me want to play even more and become the best. My motivation then led me to a new opportunity and new motivation I had become good enough to go to school for soccer and receive money for doing so. This again added another aspect that people were essentially paying me to play and it got me into one of the top schools in the country as well so if the school could employ me they could fire me and that is where I stand now.
