Social Activist

I am Ashley Nicole Adams, and I am a social activist. I do what I do in order to, help the people I encounter. I fight for others rights persistently, so that no specific group will fall through the cracks of society. Society will swiftly forget about the minority, about the homeless, and about the socially awkward. These groups are disadvantaged sometimes from birth. I have become active in my cause for minorities’ benefits by being on the Afrikan Student Union committee which helps enrich all students’ knowledge about under-represented ethnicities. In addition, I am a social activist for the homeless because at one point my mother and I struggled to “make ends meet” and had to survive without a roof over our heads. Yet, we made it through rough times with the aid of loving and helpful people. Therefore, I am determined to assist struggling individuals through my own non-profit organization. Which feeds families in need, gives them money, and provides job workshops. Lastly, growing up my best friend was labeled as mentally challenged and I eventually learned that she was misdiagnosed. She was not slow; she had a drooling problem as well as an extreme speech impediment. As I grew older I discovered that her issue could have been fixed, but society stunted her intellectual progress by labeling her and refusing to teach her adequate subject material that other students were learning about. Due to these injustices, I am and will forever be, Ashley Nicole Adams the social activist.
