WDYDWYD essay

I am a 19 year old UCLA student, a third child out of four, a rugby player, a manicurist, a procrastinator, and just a person with an appreciation for life. I would like to say I am just a normal human being, but that would be a lie. Every experience I have gone through in life has contributed to my identity today. My families’ difficult past in our homeland of Vietnam have led me to appreciate my freedom in the States, my parents’ rocky divorce have led me to become an independent woman, and my admission into UCLA has led me to become a self motivated student open to new experiences. What I do in life is simple. I just take whenever comes my way and I run with it. I get involved in anything that excites me and I never hesitant to try new things. This is why my schedule does not leave room for any rest. A typical day for me is first class and then, work, rugby practice, floor government meetings, mentor ship, and dance practice. I like to be a busy body and I like to stay involved. What I do in life is try my best to live a lively life where I can be happy doing what I do.Why I take advantage of everything that comes my way is because I love life and I have an appreciation for it. I am blessed with great opportunities so I would be a fool not to take them. I work hard so I can play hard. I worked hard to get into a great institution like UCLA which has provided me with great opportunities to play hard. The door is open so I enter. I know that I only live once so I make the most out of it. Carpe diem.
