Kevin PrinceA&A 10Discussion 1B10/16/09WDYDWYD: To Make a DifferenceI am a young college student who is looking for his way in life. I am an American and a guy who loves to compete. I am living my dream and trying to live my life one day at a time. More than anything I am just trying to take advantage of the opportunities I’ve been blessed with. I am a religious person who realizes how lucky I am to be where I am. I don’t understand why I was chosen to be so lucky, but I do know that I have to make great use of everything I’ve been given. In terms of what I “do” with my life, I go to school and I play football. I compete on a daily basis and attempt to end every day better than I started it. I try to make those around me feel comfortable and loved and I really want to make a difference. Ultimately I do what I do because of this desire. I want to make a difference in people’s lives and I don’t know how many or to what extent, but I know that one of the purposes in this life is to help others and to help those who aren’t as fortunate as I may be. I work hard and take football very seriously because it essentially has been my ticket to come to my dream school at UCLA. I am not a poor student by any means, but playing football has helped me in so many ways. I suppose this is why I love to compete on the field day in and day out, because I see worth in it. Not only can I help my teammates in any way they need on any given day, but if I am blessed enough to be in the national spotlight I hope to be a role model to kids and maybe contribute to society in that way. I don’t know how my life will turn out, but so far some of the best things have come out of going to school and playing football and establishing the relationships that have come along with that, so I’m going to keep doing it in hope of one day making a bigger difference for those around me.
