WDYDWYDI like to consider myself fortunate. The thing that I do was able to take me all the way to UCLA. But I don’t do this just so I can go to school there. Getting a scholarship has always been a goal of mine but it wasn’t the key factor to make me do what I do. The truer reason for what I do is something much deeper and means a lot more to me.What I do most intensely and put the most thought into would have to be throwing. It may be weird to some people for me to say what I do is throw things, but to me it seems like it is what I have always been meant to do. It is the only thing where I feel that whenever I am in a room regardless of where, I am the best at it in the room.I was a relieved when I realized throwing is what I should be doing. Before then I would go around staying in the back and try to divert as much attention from myself as possible. Now, I have a persona and that gives me endless confidence. I work to keep that description of a thrower. That recognition and sense of self is the reason I still work hard to this day, training and practicing to stay on top of my game. There is no better feeling that hearing your name called out by an announcer as the winner of an event. I love the way you can’t help but glow as you hear people in the crowd congratulating you.I guess doing something for the glory is cliché in many ways. But to me it really hits home because I have been able to experience the glory. I can also remember what it was like to not have any glory attributed to your name. I take all the glory as humbly as I can, but I can’t deny the fact that everything I work towards is for that very same glory.
