I am a student. I am a daughter. I am a sister. I am myself. These four reasons are significant in motivating me to do what I do. Ever since I started school, it has become a main component in my life. While others tried out new talents such as sports or music, I knew that my strength was in my education. From the beginning of kindergarten till now, my education has exponentially grown in importance to me. In being a student, studying is something that has become essential, and has accumulated to fill what seems like all of my time. It is not what most people, including myself, would consider enjoyable, but to me, the result of it is what I find the most rewarding. I experienced this recently in my first year of college. Second quarter last year had a large negative impact on my confidence as a student. Determined to not repeat it, I studied and fully dedicated myself to school work through my self-motivation. However, there were additional sources of inspiration that made a great contribution in encouraging me to do what I do best. My two sisters and parents have a big impact on what pushes me to never give up. Under all the stress and pressure that school burdens on me, my family is always a call away to lighten that weight. Besides this, they also provide me with a stronger, unspoken motivation. Because of the importance my family has to me, my fear of letting them down is one of my strongest motivations to do whatever it is I need to, to prevent that. With the support from my family and motivation from within myself, I was able to power through my third quarter. It was tedious and very time consuming, but in the end, after hours and hours of studying, it paid off. It was the best form of gratitude to give back to my family for their continuing encouragement and support, and to myself for the time I spent studying. This is why I do what I do.
