Tyler HeinemanArt and Arch10/16/09Who Am I?My name is Tyler Heineman. I am an 18-year-old student who is currently a freshman at UCLA. I also happen to play on the baseball team. I play baseball all the time and it is my passion. When I am not studying or in class I am either in the weight room training hard or on the baseball field perfecting my craft. I love everything about the game. You could say that I am a student of the game and that I am constantly trying to get better. Baseball is something I want to play for a very long time and earn a living doing it. Nothing would make me happier then earning money doing something that hardly seems like a job.Why am I so into baseball? I know most of the public gets bored watching baseball and wonder how people can even enjoy the sport. It all started when I was a baby. The first thing I ever touched besides my mom’s hand was a baseball. Obviously, I could not throw it. So, I did what most babies do with anything: I put it in my mouth and tried to chew on it. Ever since then, everyone could tell that I wanted to be a professional baseball player. Vin Skully, the announcer for the Dodger’s actually told my mom that I would play in the big leagues when I was 7.I have been one of the smallest guys on every team I’ve played on. When I was a freshman in high school, this really bothered me. But after much training and many talks with my father, I learned to accept that I was small. I learned that I could not use that as an excuse and that I was made that way for a reason. I do not know what that reason is now, but I know that I will make a difference in someone’s life.
