Who am I? I am a swimmer, a water polo player, a surfer, a lifeguard, and a beach bum. Everything I do revolves around water, and I am as comfortable in it as I am on land, if not more. Its an integral part of who I am, literally; my sweat smells like chlorine! I have vowed to live by the beach for the rest of my life, and I honestly think I would go crazy if I had to live in Kansas. I am what I do, no question about it.Another side to me is I go out of my way to help people. I love doing even the simplest things, such as holding a door open for someone, or picking up their pencil when they drop it. Sometimes I’m too generous; I lend so many people money that I end up running out of money myself! A few summers ago I taught underprivileged children how to swim, and it was the most gratifying experience of my life. To be able to pass on what I enjoy doing most to those kids meant a lot to me, and I will always remember the look on their faces when they took their first few strokes by themselves.Last but not least I am a student. I came to UCLA to create more opportunities for myself later in life, and I’m working hard to make the most of this chance.I enjoy what I do, I am shaped by what I do, and I do what I do because I love the challenge and the reward that follows.
