Thatson NguyenOctober 15, 2009Discussion 1kwdydwydI don’t really know why I do what I do. I guess I’m just getting by. I am a pretty simple person. I’m practical and I don’t need more than what I already have. I don’t like extravagant objects or events. I just like hanging out with good people.I currently go to UCLA going into my second year. I’m really involved with the Vietnamese Student Union. We do a lot of events for high school students and our community but sometimes I feel like we’re not really doing much. I sometimes question if we are really impacting the community and whatnot. I work for a project called HOPE (Higher Opportunity Program for Education). I go out to various high schools to tutor and mentor students each week. It’s something I really enjoy doing each week.I am in the process of buying a DJ set. I need a new laptop, new music, and new gear. It’s been something I have wanted to do for a long time now. The only thing that has prevented me from really getting off my feet is that everything costs so much money. I really enjoy music and I really enjoy being able to get people to have fun.I’m all over the place. I have my hand in a lot of different activities, hobbies, and clubs. I spray paint, I do karate, I dance, I play lacrosse and the list goes on.I guess now that I think about it, I do what I do because I want to find myself. Find where I belong and what I’m most passionate about. I want to be able to strive for perfection in my passion. I look up to people who know what they’re good at and continue to do it. I’ve been searching for a long time now. My life is just a list of activities unless I can find what I love.
