Happiness is the key to life. I know this sounds cliche but why pursue something if there is no happiness in it. We are only allowed a small amount of time on this Earth, so we might as well try to spend as much time as we can being happy. This is why I have become envious of Professor Winter because he has found a passion that has mixed all the things that make him happy. He is an amazing musician, is interested in all kinds of art and most importantly, he loves sharing his knowledge with those around him. Even though a two hour lecture isn't something I look forward to in the the middle of my day, I know Professor Winter giving his all for his students and with a teacher like that it's hard not to give back. While we are only in the forth week of the quarter, this class has inspired me to really step outside of the box. From the time I applied to colleges I always knew that I wanted my major to be something in the field of business but this class and Winter's passion has made me reconsidered what I want. How could I possibly know what I wanted to do for the rest of my life as senoritis plagued senior? Because of this I have decided to take some new and challenging classes that I would have otherwise never even considered.
Another important thing to remember is the best way to be happy is literally to do what you do and not copy anyone else. Don't let others decide what you have to do to be cool or fit in. Sometimes the most redeeming moments in life come when you stay in and watch a movie or play Monopoly with your best friends and its even OK to include your parents in this category because they do you know better than anyone ever could. While I am young and have much to explore, I realize that you are ultimately in control of you life and keeping your individuality is something no one can take away.
