What is your favorite quote?

I'm always interested by what quotes people hold with them,  especially those that inspire you to do what you do.  I'll start with a couple of my favorites..

"I thank god that I am not basic" - Lil Wayne

"I used to be Snow White but I drifted"  - Mae West

"Never say never" - Justin Bieber

All these quotes inspire me to live my life to the fullest.

  • An exchange between Bessie Braddock and Winston Churchill:

    - Sir, you are drunk.

    - And madam, you are ugly. But in the morning, I shall be sober.

HAAAAAAAHAHAAHHAHAHAHA!!!!!! Churchill was a genius. Sorry, this is not relevant to art. Although, I guess humor can be considered an art form if you try really hard.

    Here's another one:

Find what you love and let it kill you.

I cheated again. It's actually just a sonq title. But I love it. It's perfect for me at the moment because it's exactly what I'm trying to do. Screw trying to work your ass off til it's miserable just to make your parents proud. Be selfish, do what you want, and be happy!

  • "If you are going through hell, keep going." - Winston Churchill

This is a quote that I came across on the web couple years ago. I like this quote so much that I write it in all my blogging/social-network sites.

It is easy for people to lack motivation and ambition especially in this competitive world. But this quote reminds me that I am not the only one feeling as if I am walking through hell and that if I wait patiently until the end, the fact that I persevered is more important that the result itself.

Whenever I feel like I am going through series of troubles that just do not seem to end, I try to remember this quote and embrace the troubles so I can face them with a better attitude and the determination to keep going.

  • "Atticus Finch is the same in his house as he is on the public streets."

I have a crush on Atticus Finch (from To Kill a Mockingbird) because of this quote.  Although being one person without having to cover up to exagerate characteristics of yourself comes along with freedom, the courage it takes to be this real all the time seems surreal.

  • This quote is from Alexandre Dumas but I heard it from one of my favorite movies, The Count of Monte Cristo.

"Life is a storm my young friend. You will bask in the sun light one moment, be shattered on the rocks the next. What makes you a man is what you do when that storm comes."

Whenever I encounter adversity in life, I read this quote and it motivates me to stand firm and fight until the situation is resolved. Complaining and focusing on the negative aspects of the circumstances will get you no where. Your character is defined by what you do and how you react to difficulties and struggles in life.

  • Two recent quotes that have really hit home for me were lyrics from two Mumford and Sons songs: "After the Storm" and "Awake My Soul".  The first one speaks about hardship, and how it is only temporary; I thought how they brought in both the hurt and beauty that love can cause was something that not many love songs do today.  The second one made me reflect upon what I am investing love in, and see if those things were actually valuable.

"And there will come a time, you'll see, with no more tears.
And love will not break your heart, but dismiss your fears.
Get over your hill and see what you find there, with grace in your heart and flowers in your hair."

"In these bodies we will live, in these bodies we will die
Where you invest your love, you invest your life."

  • Here are a few of my favorite quotes...

    1. "Love what you do, do what you love"

    2. "it does'nt matter how many times you get knocked down, what matters is how many times you get up"

3."I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles."-Audrey Hepburn

    I love the last one!

  • Here are my favorite quotes. Even though I don't know who said them, they still are very powerful to me.

    1. Winners never quit & Quitters never win

    2. As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let us down, probably will. You'll have your heart broken more than once, and it's harder everytime. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for the things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and eventually, you'll lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt, because every 60 seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.

    3. Remember the past, plan for the future, but live for today, because yesterday is gone and tomorrow may never come.

  • Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.--Dan Stanford

I don't actually know who he is, but I like his quote.  I'm a perfectionist who always needs to know what the plan is ahead of time, but I've come to know that the most memorable moments happen through spontaneity.  And just because things don't go as planned doesn't mean that you can't learn something or enjoy it even more.
