Here is travel info & directions to the playa (and here's directions from Reno in particular)

Below is where we'll try to camp. (high res PDF of playa map)
  • I will put camp location in the computers at “Playa Info” which is a common place people go to find people. Just ask anyone where it is and do a search for my last name “Deifell” or “wdydwyd”
  • I will put it on the wdydwyd exhibit at Center Camp. (look near the biggest “wdydwyd?” logo on it, and it will be somewhere above or below.)
  • I will try to email everyone from the playa if I can get Internet access.
  • Below is an overall playa map and where we’ll TRY to camp.
  • Our camp will have a geodesic looking dome (shade structure). I’ll put a “wdydwyd?” banner out front (see below... minus the crowds of people… we were doing a party at the time of this pic)

    Todd, Prem and I will be arriving late on Monday and will be departing early in the morning on the following Monday.

    I'm shooting to arrive late afternoon on Saturday. Not sure when I'm leaving.... probably Monday 5am.

    i will not be an early admit with camp wdydwyd?, nor will i be camping with you all. however, i hope to come over to help for a bit after i help the folks i'm camping with come in & set up their camp on Sunday (the Spirit Dream Interpretation Cafe, aka Spirit Wind Cafe, at 4:30/Detroit). then, i'll help with a couple days of portrait-taking (at what time/day in Center Camp?), and i'll lead some folks to take down the wdydwyd? installation on Sunday. i really need to drive out on Sunday before too late (possibly staying in Truckee at a friend's place on the way), because i need to fly out of OAK by 2:30. anyone want to ride back with me?

    Hey burner family. Greg Wyke and I will be getting there in Harvey the RV (now has permanent residence in Reno) at about noon on Monday. We'll be pulling out about 6am on Monday after the temple burn. We'll help with setup Monday (will try to get in as early as possible) and will help with tear down on Sunday. Can't wait to see you there.

    My plan is for me and my +1 to arrive late Wednesday and we will stick around to cleanup on Sunday before taking off.

      slight change... we are going to be staying overnight in Reno Wed night and hitting the playa early Thursday instead. (still cleaning up Sunday before taking off, tho)

    Sarah and I intend to come.

    There is always the chance something will interfere work-wise since our commitments are sometimes out of our control, but we intend to take this time off.

    Richard and Jen seem to be engineering a camper and we think we will hitch into this. We'll do a long weekend rather than a week -- come up Thursday or Friday and leave Sunday or Monday.

      Cool! Great to hear!

      FYI, Mardie and I are doing our big re-wedding on Thursday sunset... and we'd love to have you be there before that if poss.

      If you stay around Sunday, I think you'll really like it. It's super chill and peaceful... a very different vibe than other days during the burn.
