Good call, Paula! Weston seems like he could be someone who sends promotional messages to people. But, maybe not... not sure. He does seems to add stuff that is more than just cut & paste to his profile, so he may have joined wdydwyd on his own volition (rather than b/c he's paid by a marketer).
What about this approach?...
When we notice someone's profile that seems that they could be promotional, we can send them a delicate warning message like this:
Welcome! Great to have you join the wdydwyd community.
Just so you know, we're pretty diligent about not having explicitly promotional activity on the site, and ban people very swiftly who send marketing messages to members. But, we're totally happy with anyone who participates in the site and answers "why do you do what you do?" We look forward to your answer.

We could even post this msg on their wall and we'd know if another one of us had already done it. Also, it would signal to the community that we've politely warned this person.
