Here is a canned message that I draw pieces from when I send a msg to a user who has uploaded an image that doesn't fit the site b/c it doesn't have text in it.

I usually personalize it with their name and maybe say a positive word about the images they uploaded.

Also, if it seems they are more sophisticated with graphics from their images or their profile description (e.g. a working photographer or graphics person), I usually modify the second paragraph a bit for them since they probably know how to use photoshop or similar program

Hi [name], the image you uploaded to the wdydwyd needs to include text in the image itself that answers "wdydwyd?" That is the only parameter for art on this site. It is an image-text treatment.

It may have uploaded automatically (that happens when you link to Flickr)... but I just wanted to send you a note about it.

You could add text with photoshop or something, or here are some online tools that can help: https://wdydwyd.ning.com/forum/topics/tools-for-adding-text-to (but if you use Photoshop, it looks nicer b/c you have more control)

By the way, I find that the ones that tell more about the person who created it are the most compelling... it becomes an answer that uniquely and specifically reflects you... meaning that it's not as generic like "because I want to express myself." For example, one read "I was too rebellious for priesthood," which is nice and tells you a little more about the person who said it. It's all about the integration of the text and image in a way that makes sense and adds meaning to each other.

Let me know if you have an Qs. Great to have your contribution!

Peace,
Tony
