  • Being immature is fun! One has to grow old, but one never has to grow up. I don't see it as a bad thing at all.
I think the key is having balance, or knowing when to be mature and composed, and when it's okay to act like the world is your playground.
  • When someone say you are immature, is that a bad thing? I know I am in college and everything but I take pride in being immature. I like being easily entertained and trusting people. I like to hope that everyone has a happy ending and that everything is fun. Why do you need to act mature all the time?

What does art say about our society

Throughout history, trends and periods have all opposed each other. If you look in history, each period, whether it be the roaring 20's or its conservative precursors, has been a radical contradiction to the one before it. If you look in literature, Romanticism, which gained strength during the Industrial Revolution, was followed by Realism, a completely different idea that went against every facet of Romanticism. Why was I doing it?

It is just so interesting to realize that I did not really know myself until I actually thought about me. In fact, I knew what I was doing and I thought I knew why I was doing it (not getting enough sleep and overworking in my case). But through WDYDWYD, I realized that those reasons that I had were just temporary thoughts rather than the fundamental thoughts upon which my behaviors based. Pondering upon this very issue, eventually, I found out my ultimate goal and thought process behind of my…

I know many people have asked us this before but, "What do you think art is?"

Sorry for the last minute post : ) I know we were asked "what is art?" many times in this class. But after attending more lectures and seeing the shows for the class, I have developed a better understanding of what art truly is. Back in the first week, we heard in lecture that art is exclusively a human quality. For example, a dog cannot create or appreciate art. I completely agree that it takes a highly advanced brain (like a human's) to recognize something as "art." However I've seen a…

Why is it so hard to answer the question?

Why is it so hard to answer the question "Why do you do what you do?" I just finished watching a documentary called "What about me" and a wise old lady in it made the following statement: "It is only in wealthy nations that people don't know what to do with their lives". Do you agree or disagree with this statement and why? By the way, I highly recommend the film "What about me". It hasn't been released in the US yet but is a major hit in the UK and Australia... it combines music and…
