I also answered it with the title of a widely known collection of poems by Robert Creeley, a Black Mountain poet, which seemed appropriate to the occasion: for love. Love of particular someones and somethings—another person, an object made by another person, an idea, an ideal, a vision—is my motivating inspiration in just about any serious endeavor I undertake.
