I answered in the conventional sense, as if I were meeting someone for the first time and they ask "What do you do?" meaning "What is your job?" So my reading was "Why do you have your job?" My son and my daughter are both in their twenties. Parenting changes over the years - no longer involved with the daily routine of their lives, I nonetheless still feel responsibility towards them every day. Helping them pay for college is a big part of that. So without being philosophical or without telling too much of my personal story, I stated what was an important reality in my life at that point in time. My daughter has graduated, my son will graduate in a few months. Things change.
