Drake08 Accumulation of Experiences in a Handprint

Why do I do what I do? This was a question that really made me think. I had always thought of myself as independent and free-willed- my own person- but the more I thought about it, the more I realized I was wrong. Those were adjectives that described me, but in truth I am made up of memories, experiences, personalities of people I’ve met, thoughts of people I love. All of these together have an inadvertent affect on why I do what I do.I chose the handprint image to go along with my text because I felt it best portrayed the sum of everything I am made up of. All of the things that affect the choices I make, what I do or don’t do, are all mixed together inside of me. The handprint shows the combination of all of the experiences, people, and my own new ideas put together. It shows that some factors, such as my family and friends, make up a bigger part of me, which is represented by all of the blues, in comparison to a smaller part, the yellows for example, which could have been certain experiences and have a smaller effect on my life. There are not any perfect or repeatable ratios of color, just like there is not the same or clear-cut reason I do something each time I make a decision or choose to do something. I felt the colored handprint best represented why I do the things I do because I am made up of so many experiences, people, and new thoughts of my own.
