I do what I do because I want to sing out loud and abandon regret. Although this may seem like a strange statement, it can be interpreted both literally and figuratively to explain the reasoning and motivation behind what I do.In general, I do sing out loud whenever I get the chance. I don’t necessarily sing well, but I do enjoy it; I sing along to songs that are playing and songs that happen to be playing only in my head. I never considered this to be strange or out of the ordinary, but when I came to Drake and was suddenly surrounded by new and unfamiliar people, they began to notice this as one of my many quirks. Although they did call attention to this, I have not stopped my “strange” singing because it is naturally a part of me. To change this or any aspect of myself because of a worry of what others might think would be a personal betrayal.This is a representation of the reasoning behind what I do. I want to live in a way that is true to myself: I act for the issues and people who are important to me and the issues which are in accordance with my own, unique traits. In doing this, I hope to stop regret: to stop the wishes I had acted other ways, found different people, done different things, and, ultimately, lived a different life. I do what I do because I want to live in the moment in a way that is true to myself (no matter how weird that may be), and I want to appreciate and take advantage of the one chance I have.
