This work depicts my summer volunteer experience in rural Nicaragua, where I spent six weeks in 2007 living in a host community with two other volunteers shown in this picture (Grace Callow and Sarah Sturm). The lessons I learned from Grace, Sarah, and the members of the community we lived in changed how I see the world and how I interact with others. They are, in part, why I do what I do.
