Dr. Nourian, a family-friend and my dentist, is an Iranian immigrant who was very determined from the moment who came to the U.S. He says he wakes up everyday ready to face any challenges and is constantly trying to improve upon himself. I find this a common trait among immigrants, including my parents, and it is what has helped them not only adjust to a very different life in the U.S., but to also succeed.
