The Quiet After the Storm

After a miserably stormy day in Savannah that left me looking like a drowned rat, I was sitting in the passenger seat of a rental car on my honeymoon, squeezing the water out of my t-shirt. I looked in the mirror as the sky erupted into the most spectacular sunset I had ever seen.Symbolically this fits my current circumstances. My daughter was born with various heart issues that led to open heart surgery when she was not even 2 months old. We are currently awaiting her next surgery. I feel as though the path ahead of me is dark, and that I would currently rather exist in the past than in my present.

  • Thank you. I believe that things will get better, eventually. At least that is what all of the doctors keep telling us.
  • Sarah -- that's a great Graphic. It occurs to me though that you're supposed to be riding off into the Sunset... Perhaps in time things will turn around ?
